History
The Early years. ETC, Euro Tap Control, was established in 1987 by Jef Cavens and Phillippe Mes. In the years that the PC conquered the world, this duo developed an application for the hospitality sector which ensured that establishments could be managed and controlled in a simple and clear manner. Jef took charge of the commercial aspects and development of the hardware, while Philippe focused entirely on the development of the supporting software. This division of tasks has remained more or less unchanged to this day.
The first customers were mainly Belgian discotheques, but in time more and more other hospitality establishments such as cafes, restaurants, amusement parks, etc. were added to the ETC client base. ETC was growing and expanded into international markets such as France, the Netherlands, Russia, Indonesia, etc. In France, the need for such hospitality management systems proved to be so great that in 1998 ETC France was established as a daughter company of ETC Belgium. In Belgium, the company was by now bursting at the seams and consequently it moved to the industrial zone of Turnhout in 1999.
